At Caring Hands, we want to provide compassionate care to our neighbors in eastern Polk County. We couldn’t do that without reliable volunteers like Larry Jensen, our featured volunteer of the month. Larry retired as a Project Manager for NewTech Engineering and Environmental. Since 2017, Larry has been volunteering in the warehouse. We are very grateful for all the ways Larry serves at Caring Hands.

What inspired you to serve at Caring Hands?
I was looking to volunteer and another Caring Hands volunteer (Dan Sanderson) convinced me to give Caring Hands a try.
What do you typically do when you volunteer?
I work in the warehouse as a stocker and I drive to pick up and deliver food.
What do you wish more people knew about Caring Hands?
That Caring Hands has other services besides the food pantry.
What is something that most people don’t know about you?
When I’m in Arizona for the winter, I belong to a bicycle group that goes on weekly rides.
