Food Pantry

Altoona & Eastview Locations

Clients are eligible to be served at the Food Pantries once per month.  The Altoona Food Pantry serves clients living in the Southeast Polk School District or within the city limits of Bondurant and Pleasant Hill.  The Eastview Food Pantry serves clients living anywhere in Polk County.  Clients are asked to bring a valid ID and piece of mail for confirmation of residency.

Altoona Pantry (201 Ninth St NE, Altoona)Hours:

Food Pantry:

Mondays and Wednesdays 3-5 p.m. Saturday 9-11 a.m.

Our Daily Bread:

Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Eastview (4101 E 42nd St, Des Moines) Hours:

Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2-5 p.m.

Fridays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Altoona Location

As a supplement to our regular food pantry, Our Daily Bread offers clients the opportunity to receive extra produce, canned goods, and bakery products once a week. The variety and quantity of food varies, depending on availability. Our Daily Bread is open: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.


Simple Supper

Adventure Life Church - Altoona

Simple Supper is a community wide invitation to fellowship around a delicious meal. EVERYONE is welcome! Our next supper is Monday,May 23, 5:30 to 6:30 PM at Adventure Life Church: 1700 8th St SW, Altoona. The folks from Ss John & Paul Catholic Church will be serving chili dogs, chips, coleslaw, dessert, and water.There will be both dine-in and carry-out options.
